We are thrilled to be continuing our DSOD tradition of excellence as we celebrate 51 years of dance education in the Northland! We pride ourselves on being a big studio with a small-studio feel where we provide a fun, safe and family-oriented atmosphere for our dancers with age-appropriate choreography, costumes and music. We believe dance training is life training, and our students learn not just the fundamentals of dance, but also valuable life skills in a positive environment with individual and personalized attention. We began our 2024-2025 classes in September and will conclude the year with our dance recital in May at the Kansas City Music Hall!
DSOD offers a variety of dance classes. Please see Enrollment Notes for full schedule. Children must turn 3 by September 1st and be potty-trained to participate in class in the fall. We also offer summer dance classes & workshops. See Summer Class Information for details.
DSOD has expanded! We now offer small technique, acro, pom and adult classes in our new room, Studio D! Our new space also offers private lessons for one-on-one instruction! See "DSOD Enrollment Notes" for information! Please note that students must be enrolled in one of our regular weekly classes to participate in Studio D classes.
Our dance year, which starts annually in September and concludes in May, consists of 36 weeks. 32 of these weeks consist of dance classes and the remaining 4 weeks are allotted for Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break. The DSOD year is divided into 4 quarters with tuition due at the beginning of each quarter. Discounts are offered to families with more than one child dancing and to families who have a child taking multiple classes. All enrollment is completed online. Please allow 10 days for registration to be processed. Payments may be made through our secure online payment system with a credit card or with cash. DSOD does not accept checks. Tuition must be paid in full prior to each quarter for a student to participate. A $25 late fee will be applied to accounts with balances more than 2 weeks delinquent. Every account must have a Primary Parent who oversees all activity, updates, etc.
Family and friends are invited to observe class the first week of each of our 4 quarters. Please silence cell phones and keep talking to a minimum while observing class. Family and friends are welcome to observe class through the lobby doors during all other weeks.
